Danilo Gasparini

He teaches History of Agriculture and History of Nutrition at the University of Padua, and he is also a Faculty member in the Masters program ‘Food and Wine Culture' offered by the University ‘Ca' Foscari' in Venice.
He was the head of research at the ‘Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales' (School for Higher Studies in Social Sciences) in Paris.

As a specialist of social studies connected to agriculture, food and cuisine, he is a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Library,‘La Vigna', in Vicenza, the Scientific Committee of the International Laboratory of Agricultural Studies in Montalcino and the Villa Emo Foundation.

His research was especially devoted to retracing features of Venetian agricultural society through the centuries. This culminated in the production of The Treviso Countryside in the Modern Age for the Benetton Foundation.
He published numerous books and articles on this topic and on Venetian cuisine in history, divided into different territorial specialties. He was assigned by the Veneto Region, to produce a series of 12 videos dedicated to the gastronomic tradition of the Venetian territory.

He has held several international conferences on related topics and is a special consultant for ‘Geo&Geo', an Italian television science program.
